Cheap Cyclades Holidays
The Cyclades are undoubtedly the more popular Island groups when it comes to holiday makers, as the Islands provides excellent nightlife for all age groups until the early hours of the morning, dazzling sunsets and clean golden beaches, dramatic cliffs with crashing waves and pretty little white washed houses in the town of Mykonos all under the blue sky and scorching temperatures. The Cyclades landscape is one of unspoilt natural beauty with, blue crystal clear waters, olive and orange trees and rocky hills making it ideal for walking which is the best way to views some of the Islands hidden sites such as churches, cathedrals and other Greek architectural masterpieces.
Islandas
The Cyclades 56 Islands of which 24 and inhabited circle the Island of Delos the Cyclades most natural and historical Island. The more popular touristy Islands are Andros, Amorgos, Andros, Folegandros, Ios, Kythnos, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Santorini, Serifos, Sifnos, Sikinos, Syros and Tinos. The weather is hot in the summer months of June – September with temperatures reaching 28C with the occasional northerly breeze that can sometimes disrupt boat schedules as the seas can become very choppy and in particular the winter months can become unpredictable with regards to sea travel.
Beaches
One attraction in the Cyclades is the beaches and the islands of Agios, Giorgios, Mykonos, Naxos and Mylopotas provides clean sands and an extensive range of water activities including snorkelling, Sailing water skiing and diving. For the non-energetic the beaches are filled with tourists that are just basically recovering from their night of partying by soaking up some of the midday sun.
SightSeeing
Sightseeing in the Cyclades is plentiful with many archaeological museums displaying some of the best sculptures to be found on the Island of Delos. The island is steeped in many ancient religious statues and interesting sites such as The Sacred Way which was once filled with Statues and the Sanctuary of Apollo which housed a large statue of Apollo. The 6th Century temple of Leto and the Dodekatheon also provide some interesting insight into Greek Classical art.
Cyclades Flights
Flying to some of the Islands is fairly easy with many Charter flights available during the summer months to Mykonos, Milos, naxos, paros, Thira, Syros and Amorogos all available from Athens and some direct flights available from the United Kingdom. If flying to Athens there is the option to travel by ferry or hydrofoil to the Cyclades.
