Egypt Holidays and Flights

Egypt is a country located in Northern Africa and is possibly one the most visited countries in the world.  Know for the magnificent ancient relics left by the powerful ancient civilisation of the Pharaohs, Egypt has for a long time offered a mystical attraction which will remain for an eternity. Although the antiquities of Egypt are truly awe inspiring, this is just a fraction of the appeal Egypt has to offer a traveller.  Egypt has many other attractions such as Mount Sinai, the Red Sea and the River Nile.  Each of these destinations proffer a glimpse of just how humbling the land of Egypt can be.
The key attractions to Egypt have to be the Pyramids and the Sphinx where you can see for yourself the magnificent symbols left by ancient Egypt.  The Temple of Karnak is truly splendid with the colossal columns and statues which tower above you in a foreboding yet rousing manner.  For an educational tour of the tombs and temples along the river Nile, then you should visit Luxor West Bank and the Valley of the Kings.
The capital city of Cairo houses the Egyptian Antiquities Museum where you can see first hand many of the treasures from the Pharaoh’s tombs.  Or for those sun lovers the Red Sea area offers many beautiful hotels and stunning beaches.  While in this area you can go on a Red Sea dive in the crystal clear waters to enjoy the colourful and quirky marine life.
There are many desert and oasis safaris available for those travellers seeking a personal and unique touch to your holiday.  There are day trips or longer tips to be had depending on how long you can stand riding on a camel!  There are nightly stopover’s  for longer excursions where you have the option to stay in a hotel or in a tent.  The tents are comfortable and spacious and well worth it when you picture lying with your loved one under a star light night with nothing but each other and the haunting Sahara for company.
The climate in Egypt is hot and dry.  The best time to visit Egypt without risk of passing out with the summer heat would be from December to February.  At this time the weather is still warm enough that you can enjoy any activity and even work on your tan should the urge take you.  The summer months of June to August is excruciatingly hot and for residents of the UK who are used to such cooler (ok, dull, wet and dreary) climate then this wouldn’t be a good time to visit.
Flights to Egypt are available from several major UK cities and it takes just two hours 45 minutes from London.  To enter Egypt you must have a Visa.  This can be obtained from an Egyptian Consulate or at the airport when you arrive.  There are no current recommendations for vaccinations to Egypt although this should be checked with your doctor in advance to your travel date. The currency is the Egyptian pound.
