Egypt Activities

The number of activities to be enjoyed in Egypt are plentiful.  The perfect climate to be found in the northern region of Africa makes activities such as hiking, windsurfing, snorkelling and diving a treat.  Even the simple pleasures of haggling at a local market can be a fun activity in Egypt.  The local tourists can make a game of quibbling over prices of jewellery, art and clothes at the markets and bazaars to be found scattered throughout the back streets of Egypt.
When most people think of Egypt, they imagine the camels trekking through vast open deserts and stopping occasionally for a drink at the water holes.  For a genuine look at how the desert life operates, then why not go on a desert or oases safari?  The majority of Egypt is a desert itself, so desert safaris are hugely common not to mention extremely pleasurable.  The most popular  choices for an oases safari are at Siwa in the north west region of Egypt or Farafra which is in the White Desert.  Both of these locations offer stunning scenery of rock formations, crops of dates and olives and soft silky sand for as far as the eye can travel.
Nile cruises are another popular tourist choice while staying in Egypt.  The luxurious cruise boats can take you on an incredible journey down one of the most amazing rivers in the world.  Trips normally last a week, although for those who can not afford a trip of this length, there are shorted tours operated.
For those keen outdoor enthusiast, why not take a trip of a lifetime and climb Mount Sinai?  The rugged mountainous region which is the Sinai Mountains has such beautiful scenery to enjoy as you climb the 3,700 steps from the Monastery of St Catherine located at the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain some 2285 metres up.  For those who find the prospect of such an arduous climb an impossibility, you do have the option to hire a camel or a donkey to help get you and your ass up the top of the mountain.
The most popular outdoor activity to take part in while travelling in Egypt has to be the many water sports.  The Red Sea is an ideal place to  enjoy diving.  The wondrous under water life to be found here make the diving experience that much more pleasurable.  The coral can be best enjoyed at the coast of Hurghada, and also make a perfect sport for windsurfing.  Ras Mohammed, Dahab and Basata are a selection of other wonderful diving areas and organised dives are regular.
What ever activity you decide to take part in while on holiday in the varied and exciting country of Egypt, you will be sure to have a great time.  The friendly locals and the stunning scenery make the experience a treasured memory that will stay with you for an eternity.  The pleasant and agreeable climate in Egypt goes a long way to adding to the complete Egyptian encounter.
