Kenya Attractions

The beautiful land of Kenya offers the travel a plethora of attractions.  The stunningly beautiful landscapes, the vast Maasi Mara desert and the majestic wildlife are just a small number of the many alluring Kenyan attractions you can visit while on holiday here.
Kenya is an enormously rewarding country to explore with the diverse land and friendly people.  One of the more obvious draws to Kenya has to be the fabulous Mount Kenya.  This mountain is the second highest in Africa and is an extinct volcano.  The glacier toped peak of Mount Kenya can be reached while on one of the organised tours.  You can go hiking to the peak some 5200m, but this takes time and you have to go slowly to take sure your body becomes acclimatized to the climate.  If you are brave and fit enough to tackle this enormous mountain, then by all means five it your best shot.  There can be no better way to see the amazing views to be had from Mount Kenya’s summit.
The Kakamega Forest is a unique forest which is home to hundreds of species of plant that survive any where else in Kenya.  This patch of equatorial forest is very isolated offers the traveller an alternative view of Kenya.  Where you would be used to scorched and arid sights of the desert, this lush green forest is a pleasing alternative to Kenya.
There are a number of organised tour safaris you can venture on while in Kenya, but perhaps one of the best ways to see the whole majestic land is on a balloon safari.  This is by no means a cheap method of exploring Kenya, but certainly worth the whole £250 if you can afford it.  Gliding over the plains of Kenya at dawn is a truly remarkable experience which you will treasure for a lifetime.
Mzima Springs is the largest tourist attraction to Tsavo West.  This crystal clear stream of water is home to hippos and crocodiles and if you are lucky enough you might get to see a friendly hippo wallowing in the water.  There is an underwater viewing chamber where you can might catch a view of either a hippo or crocodile, if not you can watch the resident fish go swimming by.
There are two nature trails at Mzima Springs which make for an interesting afternoon walk after a bit of hippo spotting.   Here you can see the lovely green plants and colourful birds as they fly high in the sky about towering trees.  After a good ten minutes walking on the trail you would be forgiven for thinking you were on safari!  The rugged plant life and animal noises surrounding you only add to this delusion.
As well as the above attraction you might also want to visit the national Museum, the Maasai Market or taste some of the local food such is the popular Nyama Choma, this is a roast meat normally goat, mutton or beef served with plenty of beer to wash it all down!.
